Fight the Landlord (Dou Dizhu)
Rules, steps and tips — learn it in one read and start playing
About the Game
Fight the Landlord is the classic three-player card game: one 54-card deck, 17 cards each plus a 3-card kitty. The highest bidder becomes the landlord, takes the kitty and leads — the first side to empty its hand wins.
How to Play
- Log in and choose Quick Match (3 players) or "1 vs 2 AI"
- Bid 1 / 2 / 3 points for the landlord seat; the highest bidder takes the 3-card kitty and leads
- The landlord plays first while the two peasants team up
- If the landlord empties their hand first they take the whole pool; if either peasant does, the peasants split it
Rules at a Glance
- Combos: single / pair / triple / triple+single / triple+pair / straight / pair straight / airplane (with wings) / four+two / bomb / joker bomb
- Each bomb or joker bomb doubles the multiplier; Spring and Anti-Spring double it again
- The pool is a fixed 60 points: the landlord wins all 60 (net +40), the peasants split 30 each (net +10)
- Your balance must be at least 500 points to join
Pro Tips
- Peasants should cooperate: track cards, feed your partner and block the landlord's singles
- The landlord holds 20 cards — lead straights and pair straights to shed fast
- Save bombs for key rounds to maximize the multiplier bonus
FAQ
Can I play with less than 500 points?
No, Dou Dizhu requires a balance of at least 500 points.
How do landlord and peasants win points?
The pool is fixed at 60: the landlord wins all 60 (net +40); the peasants split 30 each (net +10).
What is a "Spring"?
If the landlord wins before any peasant plays a card it is a Spring; if a peasant wins while the landlord played only once it is an Anti-Spring — the multiplier doubles again.
